Staff Selection Commission released the official SSC CGL 2023 Notification on 3rd April 2023. The online application procedure has also started today and the last application date is 5th May 2023. SSC CGL 2023 Tier-1 will be held from 14th July 2023 to 27th July 2023. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) was established in 1975. The SSC CGL is the Combined Graduate Level conducted for filling up officer & assistant-level posts in various ministries and departments of the Central Government. SSC CGL Recruitment Exam is one of the most popular Government Recruitment Exams in the country as Lakhs of aspirants apply for this exam every year. SSC CGL 2023 Notification: Apply Online Link

SSC CGL 2023 online registration procedure started on the 3rd of April 2023. Candidates can now apply online from the direct link mentioned below. 3rd May 2023 is the last application date. The SSC CGL 2023 Tier-1 will be held from 14th July 2023 to 27th July 2023. Eligible candidates will be able to apply online and submit their application forms. How to Apply Online for SSC CGL 2023 Notification?

In order to apply and register candidature for the SSC CGL Exam, the candidates should follow the given steps.

  • Step 1: Go to Staff Selection Commission’s official website https://ssc.nic.in/
  • Step 2: Select ‘New User? Register Now.
  • Step 3: Fill out the registration form.
  • Step 4: Log in to the registered account with the registration number generated during registration and the password set at the same time.
  • Step 5: Required details must be filled in for the application form
  • Step 6: Upload the scanned documents, including the photograph and signature.
  • Step 7: Carefully go through the form that you have filled out before selecting the Final Submit button to submit it.
  • Step 8: The application fee of Rs.100 needs to be paid after this; the. The process can be either online or offline.

Application Fees

A payment of Rs 100 has to be made as an application fee by candidates registering to take the SSC CGL exam. Online or offline methods using SBI challan or BHIM, UPI or internet banking, credit card or debit card. However, female candidates and those belonging to reserved categories such as Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Disability (PwD), and Ex-Servicemen (ESM) are exempt from the application fee payment.

Educational Qualification

Essential Educational Qualifications for various posts include :

All other Posts except Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer and JSO

Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.

The candidates who have appeared in the final year of their graduation can also apply, however, they must possess Essential qualifications on or before the cut-off date.

Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer

  • Essential Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute.
  • Desirable Qualifications: Chartered Accountant Cost & Management Accountant Company Secretary or Masters in Commerce Master in Business Studies or Master in Business Administration (Finance) or Master in Business Economics.
  • During the period of probation direct recruits shall have to qualify for the “Subordinate  Audit/   Accounts   Service   Examination” in respective branches for confirmation and regular appointment as Assistant  Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer.

Junior Statistical Officer

Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute with at least 60% Marks in Mathematics at 12th standard level;

Or

Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at the degree level.

SSC CGL 2023 Notification: Selection Process

In this phase, two exams are conducted on the same day, the details of the Tier-II exams are listed below. Merit list will be prepared on the basis of overall performance of candidates in Tier-II Examination only. Total time duration is 2 hours 15 minutes for Paper – 1 and 2 hours for Paper – 2 and 3 each.

Tier – I Syllabus

The syllabus of SSC CGL 2023 is as follows :

General Intelligence & Reasoning

It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal types.

This component may include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, space visualization, spatial orientation, problem-solving, analysis, judgment, decision-making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning, etc.

The topics are: Semantic Analogy, Symbolic/Number Analogy, Figural Analogy, Semantic Classification, Symbolic/Number Classification, Figural Classification, Semantic Series, Number Series, Figural Series, Problem Solving, Word Building, Coding & de-coding, Numerical Operations, symbolic Operations, Trends, Space Orientation, Space Visualization, Venn Diagrams, Drawing inferences, Punched hole/pattern –folding & un-folding, Figural Pattern – folding and completion, Indexing, Address matching, Date & city matching, Classification of center codes/roll numbers, Small & Capital letters/numbers coding, decoding and classification, Embedded Figures, Critical thinking, Emotional Intelligence, Social Intelligence.

General Awareness

Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidates’ general awareness of the environment around them and its application to society.

  • Test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observations.
  • The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Policy & Scientific Research.

Quantitative Aptitude

The questions will be designed to test the ability to appropriately use numbers and number sense of the candidate.

English Comprehension

The candidate’s ability to understand correct English, his basic comprehension and writing ability, etc. would be tested. The questions in Parts A, B, & D will be of a level commensurate with the essential qualification viz. Graduation and questions in Part C will be of the 10th standard level.

Module-I of Session-I of Paper-I (Mathematical Abilities):

  • Number Systems: Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions, and Relationship between numbers.
  • Fundamental arithmetical operations: Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest (Simple and Compound), Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Alligation, Time and distance, Time and work.
  • Algebra: Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra and Elementary surds (simple problems) and Graphs of Linear Equations.
  • Geometry: Familiarity with elementary geometric figures and facts: Triangle and its various kinds of centers, Congruence and similarity of triangles, Circle and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles.
  • Mensuration: Triangle, Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons, Circle, Right Prism, Right Circular Cone, Right Circular Cylinder, Sphere, Hemispheres, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Regular Right Pyramid with triangular or square Base.
  • Trigonometry: Trigonometry, Trigonometric ratios, Complementary angles, Height and distances (simple problems only) Standard Identities
  • Statistics and probability: Use of Tables and Graphs: Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar-diagram, Pie-chart; Measures of central tendency: mean, median, mode, standard deviation; calculation of simple probabilities.

Module-II of Section-I of Paper-I (Reasoning and General Intelligence)

Questions of both verbal and non-verbal types. These will include questions on :

Module-I of Section-II of Paper-I (English Language And Comprehension):

Vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, and their correct usage; Spot the Error, Fill in the Blanks, Synonyms/ Homonyms, Antonyms, Spellings/ Detecting misspelled words, Idioms & Phrases, word substitution, Improvement of Sentences, Active/ Passive Voice of Verbs, Conversion into Direct/ Indirect narration, Shuffling of Sentence parts, Shuffling of Sentences in a passage, Cloze Passage, Comprehension Passage. To test comprehension, three or more paragraphs will be given and questions based on those will be asked. At least one paragraph should be a simple one based on a book or a story and the other two paragraphs should be on current affairs, based on a report or an editorial.

Module-II of Section-II of Paper-I (General Awareness):

Questions are designed to test the candidates’ general awareness of the environment around them and its application to society. Questions are also designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General policy and scientific research.

Module-I of Section-III of Paper-I (Computer Proficiency):

  • Computer Basics: Organization of a computer, Central Processing Unit (CPU), input/ output devices, computer memory, memory organization, back- up devices, PORTs, Windows Explorer. Keyboard shortcuts.
  • Software: Windows Operating system including basics of Microsoft Office like MS word, MS Excel and Power Point etc.
  • Working with Internet and e-mails: Web Browsing & Searching, Downloading & Uploading, Managing an E-mail Account, e-Banking.
  • Basics of networking and cyber security: Networking devices and protocols, Network and information security threats (like hacking, virus, worms, Trojans, etc.), and preventive measures.

SSC CGL 2023 Notification: Admit Card

Admit Cards for SSC CGL 2023 Tier-1 exam will be sent out about one week before the examination. The Admit Card’s release will be released on a region-wise basis on the Commission’s Regional websites. Admit cards should be downloaded for the SSC CGL examination from their respective region’s website.
